19.

The call was published last November, and of the 40 applications submitted, 34 were granted; 90 percent, while the rest did not meet the requirements or did not provide the required documentation.

The aid is € 900 for self-employed persons who do not have workers hired by someone else or legal persons with only one self-employed person or several corporate self-employed persons, € 1,100 for self-employed persons or legal persons who have between 1 and 5 workers hired by someone else.

, and 1.€ 300 for those with 6 or more workers hired as an employee.

"From the City Council we make an important budgetary effort to continue supporting the bars and restaurants of the municipality in the face of the economic consequences they are suffering due to the health crisis.

These non-refundable grants are added to the municipal fund of more than 135,000 euros directed to self-employed and SMEs that we launched before the State of Alarm, and which the hoteliers could also take advantage of, as well as the aid of the Institute of Tourism of the Region of Murcia and the regional government, which were accessed by around 40 companies in the sector in Puerto Lumbreras, "says Rocío Martínez, councilor for Local Development and Economic Dynamization.

In addition, it must be remembered that as a result of the pandemic, the City Council has provided the municipality's hoteliers with the expansion and occupation of public spaces, without additional cost, both terraces and enclosures, the occupancy rate of public roads continues to be suspended for the first half of 2021, and has reduced several taxes that depend on the local administration such as the ICIO.

The public price for water consumption has also been frozen, maintaining the bonuses established in this regard, and the Department of Economic Dynamization and Local Development has carried out different campaigns to promote consumption and reactivate the recovery of the hotel industry.

"The City Council has turned to help a very important sector for the local economy and employmentand the regional government has approved aid amounting to 37 million euros.

We continue to wait for the Government of Spain, which to date has not granted a single euro in aid, while neighboring countries such as France or Germany have contributed more than 10 billion euros to their hospitality companies.

Now more than ever a national rescue plan is necessary that includes direct aid, tax cuts and measures to reactivate the activity whenever possible.

At stake are 1 million jobs and the definitive closure of more than 100,000 establishments, which would be a real disaster for our economy and our future.
