Children of Puerto Lumbreras become guardians of municipal assets (23/05/2016)

Students participating in this program have signed a written commitment through which undertake to act as "Keepers Heritage".

School participate in a design competition in which will present different ways to preserve assets.

Children who have the best ideas will be given away and named "captains" of the guardians of heritage.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Education and the Department of Culture and Tourism in collaboration with the AMPAS of schools, has launched an educational campaign about the history and traditions of the municipality.

Specifically, students in grades 5 and 6 of primary of all schools in the municipality participate in this initiative with the objective that the children know the history of the town, its traditions and cultural heritage through historical heritage.

In this sense, the mayor of the town, Maria Angeles Tunisia, explained that "this is a new initiative that stresses the importance of knowing the heritage value it, preserve it and spread it. There is a class of History, but to teach values ​​in a fun way. "

Specifically, through this campaign children explained what the heritage, the types of heritage, what their problems and benefits.

So, this means that children have to disseminate the main traditional monuments like the Castle of Nogalte or cave houses among their relatives and friends.

In addition, children who have signed this commitment will be responsible for taking his family to wander the monuments in order to show its history and the importance of participating in its preservation and dissemination.

Third, the school accepted to contribute to the care and maintenance of Puerto Lumbreras, especially its monuments and its environment.

Also, the school will participate in a design competition in which will present different ways to preserve assets.

Maria Angeles Tunisia stressed that "we want to bring culture and the smallest traditions in an original and entertaining way. From now on, and through this project, children better know their origins and appreciate more our municipality."
