Children learn to care for the environment with educational workshops (04/06/2016)

About 200 children of the village gathered yesterday at the Reina Sofia Park to participate in Children's workshops "Mother Nature", with which the smaller the municipality learned to recycle, through different games related to the environment .

On the other hand, yesterday also the awards ceremony of the III Contest of Popular Science and Environmental Issues in the IES Rambla de Nogalte was held.

Note that these initiatives are part of the program of the Environment Month, launched by the Department of Sustainable Development of the City of Puerto Lumbreras.

The program consists of different activities aimed at all sectors and areas of the local population and especially the children and young people.

In this sense, the Councillor for Sustainable Development, Angela Morillas, stressed that "with this program we want to help raise awareness about the need to respect and preserve our natural environment and promote recycling and the use of renewable energies to achieve a natural environment and a sustainable environment. "

Specifically, the Month program Environment began with days of revegetation, in which students of all schools in the municipality and the IES Rambla de Nogalte participated, with the objective of that school know the care needed by plants and the importance of maintaining clean parks and gardens.

In addition, visits were made to the mobile Ecoparque and various lectures and information sessions about recycling and environmental issues.

Thus, the mobile Ecoparque has been installed for three days in the IES Rambla de Nogalte, where students have received counseling and information about recycling.

Similarly, the planned program includes a special radio with the participation of Director of Conservation of Natural Areas of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, which will be issued next June 17 at 11:00 in Nogalte Radio (107.5 FM ).

Finally, the program closes on 22 June with an open day at the Center for Nature Interpretation, located in the Cabezo de la Jara.

This activity is aimed at all public and will be held at 8:00 p.m. schedule 17.00h.
