The Department of Culture has expanded library funds through the acquisition of new samples in response to requests from users and by donations made by individuals.
The Department of Culture of the City of Puerto Lumbreras has expanded the library collection of the Municipal Library with more than one hundred books of different genres.
Specifically, the expansion has a lot of planet prizes and children's books for children.
Among the new acquisitions is "Alice Island" by Daniel Sánchez Arévalo (2015 Planeta Prize finalist), "Naked Men" by Alicia Giménez Bartlett (2015 Planeta prize) or the children's book "Elmer" by David McKee.
On the other hand, they have also acquired novels in high demand by citizens as "Story of a scoundrel" Julia Navarro or "The day the sky will fall" of Megan Maxwell.
Councillor for Culture, Maria Victoria Jerez, stressed that "we have acquired a lot of new publications that enrich our library collection and make it more attractive to encourage reading among lumbrerenses".
Thus, the Department of Culture has expanded library funds through the acquisition of new samples in response to requests from users and by donations made by individuals.
Note that the Municipal Network of Libraries of Puerto Lumbreras has a large library collection of 16,018 volumes for adults and children, which are arranged in different subjects and categories.
It should also be noted that in the last year loans 4,577 books and 139 activities to encourage reading in the Library Network, which includes Puerto Lumbreras Municipal Library and the Library of La-Esparragal Station were made.
