Puerto Lumbreras launches a campaign to promote Christmas shopping (15/12/2016)

As a novelty has organized a large Christmas draw with a prize of more than 1,700 euros in purchases and the race San Silvestre for children.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with business associations of the municipality, has promoted a campaign in the occasion of the Christmas holidays to promote the proximity trade and raise awareness of the importance of buying in local businesses.

Among the actions of the campaign is the installation of the Navilandia children's playground, an alternative of entertainment and leisure for children while parents make purchases.

The children, supervised by monitors, will enjoy with animation, inflatables and workshops.

This activity will take place in the courtyard of the Cultural Center during the month of December on the 22nd (from 16.30 to 7.30pm), 23 (10.00 to 13.30) and 24 (from 10.00 to 13.30).

In addition, this playground will also be installed on days 4 (from 10.00 to 13.30 and from 16.30 to 19.30) and January 5 (from 10.00 to 13.30).

Tickets to access this activity are available at local shops when making purchases.

Christmas Day will be celebrated on December 23rd.

The shops of the municipality will remain open until 22.00 hours.

That afternoon, from 5 pm, there will be a parade to celebrate the arrival of Santa Claus to the municipality.

The "Cavalcade of Illusion" will feature the dancers of the Mª Teresa Lazareno dance academy, the Municipal Band of Music and Disney characters, who will accompany Santa Claus along the main streets of the municipality.

During the tour hundreds of candies will be distributed with the motto "Buy in Puerto Lumbreras".

On the other hand, on December 31, there has been a party with children's chimes on San Francisco Street from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

At 12.00 hours the attendants will change the traditional grapes for sweets to dismiss the year2016.

After the bells, will start the race San Silvestre in the street San Francisco.

In addition, this year has organized the children's race San Silvestre to be held at 11.00 hours.

The San Silvestre race will be jointly funded and the proceeds from the inscriptions will go to Caritas.

Citizens who make purchases of more than 20 euros will get ballots to participate in this draw that will be held on January 5 at 12.00 on Mably Street.

To finish the program, on January 5 will be held the Cabalgata de Reyes with the collaboration of the Riá-Pitá dance academy and the Municipal Band of Music at 17.00 hours.
