Lectures and theoretical-practical workshops on first aid to act in case of emergency will be given.
More than 200 students between 14 and 17 years of the Institute of Secondary Education Rambla de Nogalte will be trained in road safety in order to avoid risks and prevent accidents.
These days organized by the Local Police, through the Department of Public Safety of the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, will have different initiatives to raise awareness of the importance of the respect of traffic regulations.
The conference will include a simulator so that the students can check what happens when a car dumps, how the seat belt acts in case of an accident or how it affects the consumption of alcohol and drugs in driving.
In addition, lectures and theoretical-practical workshops on first aid will be given.
Young people will learn basic concepts to act in case of emergency, how to deal with different types of burns, mobilization and immobilization of patients, assistance to the polytraumatized patient, as well as cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The Councilor for Citizen Security, Dolores Arenas, stressed that "the day is intended to be very participatory, there will be different tests for students to test the theoretical content in a practical way and will expose real cases to capture the attention and interest of young people ".
In addition, Dolores Arenas stressed that "one more year we launch this road safety campaign, which will also be carried out in schools and nurseries of the municipality, with the aim that children and young people know the rules and prevent accidents."
Finally, it should be noted that these days are organized by the Local Police and the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with Civil Protection, Ambulancias de Lorca and the San Nicolás Training Center of Cartagena.
