Puerto Lumbreras presents its Yearbook 2016 with the Modern Section of the Coral of the University of Murcia (11/03/2017)

The Yearbook is a publication that, in its 196 pages in full color, offers images and information about the most important events that happened during the last year in the municipality.

More than 250 people came to the presentation to get a copy of the Yearbook and enjoy the performance of the University Choir.

The municipality of Puerto Lumbreras presented last night its 2016 yearbook that summarizes the municipal, social and cultural activity of the town through more than 2,000 images.

The 2016 Yearbook of Puerto Lumbreras is a publication that, in its 196 pages in full color, offers images and information about the most important events that happened during the last year in the municipality.

In addition, it also includes data of municipal interest related to diverse areas like education, sports, employment or demographic data.

Thus, this document provides information on the number of births, the most common names, the most practiced sport or the most read book in the municipal libraries.

There are also the main social events such as Holy Week, Carnival, Christmas, Festivities or the Queen's Dance.

The Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Mª Victoria Jerez, explained that "this yearbook, which began to be published in 2004, has become a collector's piece for the great majority of lumbrerenses. To know the evolution of Puerto Lumbreras future generations.

The presentation ceremony was attended by the Modern Section of the Choir of the University of Murcia.

The Councilor for Culture and Tourism explained that "we have chosen the University Choir to soften this act since they are also part of this yearbook 2016."

The University Choir returned to the municipality to offer a fun show "From the 90 until today" with national and international pop rock songs.

The Councilor for Culture and Tourism praised the performance of the members of the choir, and thanked the work done by all associations, groups and clubs during 2016 and can be reflected in the yearbook.

Finally, Mª Victoria Jerez stressed that "the pages of this yearbook also include the works and projects that have seen the light in the last year as the expansion of the school Juan Antonio López Alcaraz, the new Astronomical Observatory Cabezo de la Jara, the Study room 24 hours from La Estación-Esparragal or the hydraulic infrastructure of the Casa del Cura, among others.
