Successful participation in the solidarity race "Reto Innowalk" (03/09/2017)

More than a thousand people have joined the solidarity event with the objective of raising funds for the purchase of a motorized device that will allow an assisted walk to the students of the Pilar Soubrier Special Education School.

The winners of the 6k race in absolute category have been Mari Carmen Romero in women and Antonio Miñan in men.

The Town Hall of Puerto Lumbreras and sports associations of the municipality have organized this Saturday the solidarity race "Reto Innowalk" with the objective of raising funds for the children of the special education school Pilar Soubrier.

The event, which has had the participation of more than a thousand people and has been held on Avenida Pedro García Rubio.

The modalities in which it has been disputed have been cyclopaseo, march, 6K race and children's race.

In addition, after the trophy awards, a solidarity concert was held by the local group "Ultima Eco".

At 18.00 hours started the day with the ciclopaseo, in which families will participate in the full tour of the main streets of the municipality.

Then the solidarity march took place and at 20.00 it was the turn of the children's race.

Finally, at 21.00 hours the 6-kilometer competitive race was held for the cadet, junior, senior and veteran category (A, B, C, D, E and F).

Thus, the winners of the 6k race in absolute category have been Mari Carmen Romero, in women and Antonio Miñan in men.

The money collected with the inscriptions will be destined to the purchase of a motorized device that will allow the students of the school Pilar Soubrier de Lorca, with difficulties of movement, to be able to realize a correct attended march.

It is a device that adapts individually to each child and whose cost can not be assumed by the school.

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras has expressed satisfaction with the participation of the citizens and has stressed that "with this solidarity initiative we contribute to improve the quality of life of the children of the Pilar Soubrier Special Education School and their families, many of them of Puerto Lumbreras ".

It should be noted that this solidarity day has been organized by the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, Cabezo de la Jara, Esparragal Sports Association, Runnnig La Sima Trail and AndaYa Hiking Club, in collaboration with the Nogalte Athletics Club, Leisure and Time Association Free in the Silybum Nature, Trilumb Club, Puerto Lumbreras Tennis Club, Lumbreras Basketball Club, Club Deportivo Lumbreras and Ambulancias de Lorca.

The day has been framed in the initiative "Challenge Innowalk", which arose from a group of parents and special education school, Pilar Soubrier de Lorca, together with the team of physiotherapists of the center.

People who want to collaborate with the initiative can also do so with donations in the AMPA account number ES19 0487 0060 5690 0053 2049 with the concept 'CHALLENGE PL + NAME + AGE'.
