The Puerto Lumbreras municipal summer swimming pools have had a great influx of bathers during the months of June, July and August.
Specifically, more than 15,500 tickets have been sold since the facilities opened to the public on 15 June.
In this sense, there has been a 7.75% increase in the number of tickets sold compared to the summer of the previous year.
The month that experienced a greater increase of users compared to 2016 was June.
In that month there were 3,035 entries, 21.25% more than in the same month last year.
In July, 6,682 entrances to the swimming pools were registered, being the month of greater influx of this year, whereas in August they registered 5,849 entrances.
The Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports, Juan Rubén Burrueco, has been satisfied with the data and explained that "lumbrerenses and citizens of nearby towns have moved to the Municipal Sports Center to enjoy our municipal swimming pools that have large shady areas and play aquatic children.We have made a great effort to provide a good service.
This summer, the days with the highest number of users were 25 June and 6 August.
The Councilor for Sports has emphasized that "in general, on Sundays have been the days that more users have used municipal swimming pools."
According to Burrueco, "the creation of new shading areas, the performance of swimming pools and quality facilities, coupled with the weather conditions, have increased the number of users."
During the month of July, every Tuesday the municipal swimming pool was opened at night with entertainment shows and free of charge.
"Our intention has been to offer citizens public facilities for as long as possible and offer new possibilities that make the summer more attractive and pleasant to those who stay in Puerto Lumbreras in the hot months."

On the other hand, there will be classes of children swimming with groups differentiated by age group of 3 to 4 years, from 5 to 7 years, from 8 to 11 years and from 12 to 15 years.
The program also offers the possibility of performing therapeutic swimming, aquasalud courses, aquagym, aquagap, and synchronized swimming.
Pensioners and people with disabilities receive discounts of 50%, while large families benefit from 25%.
On the other hand, unemployed people, university students and young card users enjoy a 10% discount on activities.
