The outgoing queen, Alba Garcia handed her crown to Marta Sanchez Conejo, Queen of the Fiestas 2017, who was chosen among the 7 ladies who opted for the title.
Marta Sánchez Cornejo was chosen last night as the new Queen of the Celebrations of Puerto Lumbreras.
The young woman was the most voted candidate by the audience attending the gala.
During the act of the Queen's Dance, a small tribute was paid to the best known musicals on the national and international scene.
Thus, in addition to softening the gala, music became one of the protagonists of the event of the year.
At 22.00 hours began the act with the official reception of the ladies by the Municipal Corporation at the Cultural Center Casa de los Duendes.
Then the seven ladies moved in limousine to the esplanade of the Municipal Sports Center, where the gala was held.
This edition of the Gala of the Queen's Ball was conducted by the presenter Carlos Chova and the Murcia journalist Encarna Talavera.
During the event, the renowned ballet of Victor Campos, composed of 12 dancers, represented the musicals of "Grease", "West Side Story", "Today I can not get up" and "Priscilla, Queen of the desert", among others.
The dance group left the public open-mouthed for its great professionalism in interpreting these great themes, in addition to putting their personal stamp with fresh air and dynamic choreographies.

After the coronation of the new incoming Queen, the dance was opened with the traditional waltz.
Finally, the audience enjoyed an orchestra that enlivened the rest of the evening.
As every year, the event has been organized by the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, and is sponsored by Veolia, Elecnor, Hogar Puerto Lumbreras, Telemag, Estrella de Levante and Consorcio Turístico Medina Nogalte.
