Wednesday, September 27, 2017. The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has launched a new initiative for children with disabilities to enjoy the fair attractions for free during the Festivities, held from 4 to 8 October.
Specifically, minors with a disability equal to or greater than 33% will not have to pay to get into the attractions of the fair.
The only requirement that children must meet is to present a document that proves the handicap and be accompanied by an adult, who will pay the normal rate.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, stressed that "we have met with the feriantes to carry out this initiative which is complemented by other actions set in motion from the City Council in order to ensure equal opportunities and integration of people with disabilities ".
On the other hand, the Consistory will enable parking spaces in the fairground for people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility.
In addition, Mª Ángeles Tunisia has announced that "the Municipal Housing and the Young Tent will have this year a space reserved for people with reduced mobility have better visibility in the concerts."
The Mayor has highlighted the commitment of Puerto Lumbreras with people with disabilities.
"We believe that it is essential that people with disabilities feel integrated. From the Government team we are focused on people with disabilities and their families," concluded Tunisia.
