The artist Marcos Salvador Romera has been this year the pregonero of the Fiestas in honor to the Virgin of the Rosary of Puerto Lumbreras.
Specifically, the proclamation was held last night in the Parish Church, where hundreds of lumbrerenses accompanied the town crier during his intervention with which the start of the festivities was given to the patron saint festivities 2017.
According to Marcos Salvador Romera "there is nothing more beautiful in any family than a celebration, or anything more beautiful for a town than to be at parties."
The town crier invited to live the fiestas "with joy and creative capacity to all lumbrerenses, both those who live here and those who live far away and carry in their heart the Port."
In the pregón participated the guitarist Marcos Germán Romera, a dancer of the academy Riá Pitá and the folk group Coros y Danzas Virgen del Rosario, that enlivened the act with diverse performances.
The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "the election of the town crier is motivated by its great relationship with the patron saint festivities and, moreover, is a recognition of his artistic career."
Tunisia added that "Marcos Salvador offered a proclamation full of art and feeling. Romera is a person who carries his people in the heart, with close ties to the Virgin of the Rosary."
The person in charge of pregonar the holidays counts on an ample curriculum as painter, illustrator, writer and cultural manager.
The Fiestas Patronales 2017 are marked by traditions and acts in honor of the Patroness, the Virgin of the Rosary.
In addition, the festive program includes a wide range of musical, sports and leisure activities throughout the month of October.
At the end of the proclamation, the mayor of the municipality, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, the crier, Marcos Salvador Romera, and the queen of the parties, accompanied by her ladies, presided over the chupinazo of the beginning of the Festivities of Puerto Lumbreras 2017.
Then the procession of San Francisco was celebrated, which had the presence of the band of drums and hornets of the Brotherhood Our Father Jesus Nazareno and the Brotherhood of Christ. The night ended with the verbena of San Francisco and the performance of the orchestra "Roma" in the place Juan Pablo II.
