Almost 200 Lumbrerenses will benefit from the support of the Fund to Support Families and Children (02/11/2017)

The City Council will receive a grant of over 23,000 euros to develop programs that improve the situation of social vulnerability of the most needy families.

195 Lumbrerenses will benefit from the support from the Fund for Support to Families and Children, from the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality.

From the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, through the general directorate of Family and Social Policies, a direct grant grant is being processed for the development of these actions in the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras for an amount of 23,890 euros.

With this loan, two projects will be financed in the locality: the one aimed at alleviating and improving the situation of social vulnerability of families by covering basic needs, and the one supporting family and work conciliation.

In the first case, the program will be set up "emergency aid for vulnerable families", with which it is intended to continue responding to situations of need to families, with minor children, who do not have a support network and lack means to cover basic family needs, especially those related to food, clothing, housing, medicines, educational material or commuting to regional health services.

In this way, financial support will be provided to families of the municipality from the scope of primary care social services to ensure coverage of basic needs.

In addition, the basic conditions will be guaranteed to 96 minors in a situation of vulnerability and work will be carried out and financial support will be provided to the families who are in the Accompaniment program for social inclusion.

Second, a "Summer and Christmas School" project will be developed for vulnerable children.

The objective of this program is to care for and care for children between 3 and 12 years of vulnerable families during school vacations, while parents work or, without doing work, children need a space of normalized relationship where educational activities are combined , recreational and recreational, with the guarantee of a balanced diet.

The mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Túnez, stressed that "we will continue to support families and groups most in need with projects aimed at improving social-labor integration."
