The project has an investment of 14,500 euros and will be subsidized by the Autonomous Community.
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras will launch a project to revitalize the commercial area of ​​the urban center of the municipality, through a grant from the General Directorate of Trade, Consumption and Administrative Simplification, under the Ministry of Employment, Universities and Enterprise.
Specifically, the gardens and green areas with artificial turf will be remodeled and new pedestrian crossings will be created in the Murcia Region avenue.
On the other hand, the project contemplates actions that will improve the circulation of public transport and the accessibility of people with reduced mobility, through the elimination of architectural barriers.
Likewise, the quality of the green spaces will be improved to make them an attractive place for the commercial use of the area, improving its landscape and urban quality.
Ángela Morillas explained that "the Región Murciana avenue is one of the main roads of circulation and access to the city, and with these actions we will be able to make one of the shopping areas of the urban center more attractive, at the same time it will become one more avenue safe for vehicle traffic and pedestrian traffic ".
For the realization of these actions will be executed works related to earthworks, masonry, paving, urbanization, road painting and, in addition, will develop gardening.
The councilor of Commerce, Angela Morillas, stressed that "we are convinced that there is a close relationship between urban space and commercial activity.A well-conceived urban space provides an ideal basis for the development of commercial activity, promotes pedestrian movement and generates a fluid urban life. "
Finally, Morillas stressed that "it is intended to achieve greater integration between shops and leisure places betting on a much more attractive and comfortable for the consumer, since the Murcia Region avenue converge stores, bars and complementary activities."
It should be noted that the execution period is three months and the investment, by the Autonomous Community, in collaboration with the City of Puerto Lumbreras, amounts to 14,500 euros.
