At the end of the ceremony, Jorge González was nominated as Nazarene of the Year of the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of the Faith and Mary Most Holy of Mercy.
The musical group of the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of the Faith and Mary Most Holy of Mercy of Puerto Lumbreras presented last night its new uniform in a very special concert in the Parochial Church.
As explained by the president of the Brotherhood, Joaquín García, "the uniforms have been made in the craft workshop of tailoring Marisa Ortega, who has dressed well-known bands and musical groups from all over the country."
The new suits are black and show silver embroidery on the cuffs and collar.
In the embroidery appears a crown of thorns and the Ave Maria anagram, symbols of the Brotherhood.
It should be noted that the embroidery of the cuffs has a new shield, which combines the symbols of the Christ of the Faith and Mary Most Holy of Mercy.
Also, the cap has been corrected to keep harmony with the rest of the uniform.
In this way, the cap is crowned by the Holy Cross with Sudarium, inside a crown of thorns, the first symbol that this band wore on their uniforms in the decade of the 90s.
It is worth mentioning that the attendees could enjoy a musical performance in which six pieces were performed, among which were "Reo de Muerte", "Costaleros del Amor" and "Jesús del Prendimiento".
In addition, one of the pieces that the band played was accompanied by Mª Elena Romera on guitar and Silvia Pérez on piano.
During the ceremony, the blessing of the new image that the Brotherhood has acquired, the Christ of Mercy, was also performed.
It is an image of Jesús Cautivo sin coronar, made in polychrome ceramics by the Jiménez Díaz art workshop in Seville.
The tunic that carries the image is of garnet velvet and embroidered in gold, very similar to that of the costaleros of the Santísimo Christ of the Faith, since it is the identifying color of the Brotherhood from its beginnings.
It should be noted that the tunic has been made by the women of the Brotherhood.
At the end of the ceremony, the appointment of Jorge González, head of the musical group, was made as Nazarene of the Year of the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of the Faith and Mary Most Holy of Mercy.
