Puerto Lumbreras host the XXIII National Folk Festival with the participation of groups of Andalusia, Extremadura and Murcia (06/07/2010)

The Festival will feature performances by local folk group Coros y Danzas Virgen del Rosario and other groups that represent the folklore of various regions.

Councillor for Education, Culture and Celebrations, Isabel García, and the president of Local Group Songs and Dances Virgen del Rosario, Joaquin Esteban González, have signed the cooperation agreement to organize events and promote lumbrerense folklore.

The town of Puerto Lumbreras host next Saturday 10 July at 22.00 hours the XXIII National Folklore Festival that is included in the Cultural Nogalte program.

Councillor for Education, Culture and Celebrations, Isabel García, alongside the president of the Chorus and Dance Group Virgen del Rosario, Joaquin Esteban Gonzalez, which will be presented the 2010 festival set lumbrerense.

At its twenty-third year, the Festival will feature more than a hundred artists from the Group of Songs and Dances 'Las Limas Cáceres' (Extremadura), the Marquesa de Benamejí Group (Córdoba), and the Choral Group and Dances Francisco Salcillo of Cieza (Murcia).

Moreover, as each year the National Folk Festival will show the tradition of the town of Puerto Lumbreras in the traditional parranda, Malaga and Jacks represented by the Chorus and Dance Group Virgen del Rosario.

CHOIR AND DANCE GROUP SALCILLO FRANCISCO (CIEZA)

Was founded in 1942 and since then has continued to investigate, collect and disseminate the rich and varied folklore of his region.

He has participated in major national festivals and has represented Spain in various European festivals.

In his repertoire are a total of 14 dances, among which are the jacks and its rhythm seguidillas alive and happy, and Malaga and fandangos, for his majesty.
