The Community promotes measures to boost employment in Puerto Lumbreras, Cieza Totana (14/07/2010)

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has done a study on social responsibility in small and medium enterprises in the towns of Puerto Lumbreras Totana and Cieza, in order to obtain actual data rates of Social Responsibility in the business, to implement measures support the development, expansion and improvement of business competitiveness.

The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Sotoca Constantine, along with the mayors of Puerto Lumbreras Totana and Cieza, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, José Martínez and Antonio Tamayo, respectively, today announced the measures that each of the municipalities is underway program under the Activa Murcia Rural Employment (Maper).

The program, funded by the Ministry of Education, Training and Employment and the European Social Fund, aims to encourage in these three municipalities social and professional integration of groups with integration difficulties (women, long-term unemployed, people with disabilities or young people under 30 years), mainly through training and advice, and promote the implementation of social accountability measures in the three municipalities.

The Job Holder recalled that the program has a budget of 850,000 euros and will run until June 2011, adding that "it is a commitment to employment as the best weapon to fight against social exclusion."

Sotoca stressed the importance of the project to revitalize the activity of these three municipalities and promote a qualitative improvement in its productive, "and reinforcement of active employment policies developed by the Ministry and now occupy a prominent place on the agenda regional government. "

To develop the project, the municipalities of Puerto Lumbreras, Cieza Totana and work in coordination with the objectives to promote the employability of disadvantaged groups, through integrated insertion routes and training processes and practices; promote integrated operations sustainable development, ensuring equal opportunities between men and women in the workplace, and promote the use of new technologies in the processes of training, job placement and as a working tool.

Project Pillars

To fulfill these objectives, the program provides for the launch of Solidario Occupational Observatory located in Puerto Lumbreras, whose objective is to analyze the situation of the municipalities in terms of social responsibility to develop benchmarks that measure the development of SMEs in respect for the environment, labor and social inclusion for disadvantaged groups or social development.

Actions taken in Puerto Lumbreras

Specifically, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras is the partner responsible for implementing actions related to Social Responsibility and the establishment of a Centre for Occupational data on the development of small and medium enterprises in relation to indices of social responsibility, or an Office of Socially Responsible Territories that will focus on implementing social responsibility plans social partners, SMEs and municipalities.

In the framework of the mappers the municipality has made during the past year a study on social responsibility in small and medium businesses in Puerto Lumbreras, and Cieza Totana, in order to obtain actual data rates of Social Responsibility in the business for implement measures to support further development, expansion and improvement of business competitiveness.

In September 2009 began the second phase of the research and the consistory lumbrerense developed three focus groups involving SMEs, social partners and public bodies of the three municipalities.

In addition, a study of cases involving Social responsibility in the three partner councils.

On the other hand, with the creation of the Office of the consistory Socially Responsible Territories is developing the process of implementing socially responsible actions in 10 local businesses.

In addition, the municipality has created a Labor Revitalization Center established a comprehensive procedure for individual and group career counseling for access to employment and support entrepreneurship.

Today have gone through individual counseling service about 150 people, and the group more than a hundred.

Finally, in the field of training, Puerto Lumbreras organize training programs for home help and a tour guide, both for 25 people.

The programs consist of specific and practical training in companies and a training grant for students.
