The municipality has joined the project in the participating municipalities in several European countries like Greece, Netherlands, Sweden, Slovenia and Italy.
The project aims to promote young people's active participation in society, encourage reflection on cultural diversity and European citizenship and help young people with difficulties in the use of their leisure time.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras participate in the European project 'Youth in Action' which aims to boost support among young people with more difficulties to increase their social participation and promote a fruitful use of their free time.
Thus, the consistory lumbrerense promote training activities, workshops and research with various municipalities in European countries like Greece, the Netherlands, Sweden, Slovenia and Italy.
"Through this new European project of which we are partners, the session will start training activities, cultural and leisure to enhance social participation of young people in the locality, with particular emphasis on older people with social difficulties," said Councilwoman Employment and Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia.
Specifically, the project's objectives are to promote young people's active participation in society, to stimulate reflection on cultural diversity and European citizenship and help young people with difficulties in the use of their leisure time.
In addition, the project aims to support youth in recognition of its ability to achieve common outcomes, promote youth access to information and media, as well as promoting their active participation in the media.
To this end, the council will put in place lumbrerense joint action with partners in the project, which will involve various councils such as Education, Youth and Sports, and Social Policy.
Among the activities carried out an investigation emphasizes the use of leisure time of young people in each participating country, as well as organizing workshops and training programs on intercultural communication.
In addition, 20 youths from different countries will be selected to develop the production and filming in video that will estimate the reflection on cultural diversity and European citizenship.
