The flamenco singer Curro Piñana the Festival opened last night from Puerto Lumbreras to read the proclamation and flamenco songs (07/10/2010)

Many lumbrerenses accompanied the singer and the Mayor for turning on lights and opening the trade fair which will take place this year over 50 activities that make up the Festival program.

The singer Curro Piñana last night opened the festivity of Puerto Lumbreras 2010 with the reading of the proclamation.

At 21:45 hours, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, accompanied by the Municipal Corporation to complete and hundreds of lumbrerenses receiving the singer to turn the lights on the fairgrounds.

The Mayor gave a word of thanks to the singer for sharing with the lumbrerenses the beginning of their patron saint, and "to constitute as one of the most important day for the city with celebrations in honor of the patron and mayor of Honor Nuestra Señora Virgen del Rosario. "

In addition, the mayor acknowledged the collaboration of lumbrerenses and citizen involvement for the organization of this new edition of the festivities.

During the opening speech, Piñana, gave a description of the customs lumbrerenses and active participation for more than 12 years in the holy week of the locality.

He also highlighted the atmosphere of festivity and fervor of Puerto Lumbreras parties held each year during October in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary.

At the end of the trading session, the Town Band performed the official anthem of Puerto Lumbreras, and ushered in the first performances in the dugout and the area municipal youth.

Curro Piñana, 2010 Town Crier

Known in the artistic world of flamenco with the name of Curro Piñana, was born in Cartagena (Murcia) in 1974.

Began his apprenticeship with the direct teachings of his grandfather (Antonio Piñana, father) on the varied and complex styles miners.
