The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras create a protocol for implementing social responsibility in the administration, prioritizing the procurement of socially responsible companies.
This was approved unanimously at the last Full Council a motion proposing the creation and design of a Social Responsibility strategy, with which the municipality will prioritize the procurement of goods and services in response to the Corporate Social Responsibility with companies to encourage environmental compliance, energy conservation, reconciling work and family life, employment and inclusion of disadvantaged people, among others.
The Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, explained that "with the participation of the municipality in the project Murcia Rural Employment Activa (mappers) from the municipality provide assistance and advice to local businesses to adopt measures within the framework of Liability Corporate Social. Thus, with the approval of this motion is that the City Council incorporate in its human resources policy assessment index of social responsibility to address public procurement procedures. "
