Puerto Lumbreras presents its 2010 Yearbook which summarizes the year through more than a thousand photographs (25/01/2011)

The Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, made a positive assessment of last year that "despite the difficulties, Puerto Lumbreras continued to grow with the launch of more than a score of public facilities."

The Dean of the College of Journalists of the Region of Murcia, Juan Tomás Frutos, was on hand to present the 2010 Yearbook of Puerto Lumbreras to more than 200 people, coinciding with the Day of the Patron of Journalists, San Francisco de Sales.

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, along with the Dean of the College of Journalists of the Region of Murcia, Juan Tomás Frutos, presented the 2010 Yearbook of Puerto Lumbreras that sums up the year in the town through more than 1,000 images.

Coinciding with the presentation, Sanchez took stock of the last year in the municipality, in which "launched a dozen new public facilities that offer new services hitherto unavailable in the locality."

Among the new equipment, said the launch of the new school Sacred Heart education offered 450 seats in an infrastructure of over 3,900 square meters.

In addition, this year opened the House of Fairies, which has established itself as the cultural space "par excellence" of the town, or the new Multipurpose Center Rural Esparragal Station, which offers over 2,000 square meters for the development of activities educational, cultural, educational and leisure in the largest district of the town.

In this connection, Sanchez said that in 2010 "Puerto Lumbreras has materialized one of the best public care networks in the region, with over 600 seats for children between 0 and 3 years."

Thus, the network has four child care centers that offer English from zero years, the use of new technologies, and specialized programs for families involved in their children's education.

As for reference services, Puerto Lumbreras began operating one of the most modern day stay facilities for the elderly in the Region, and completed the works will be the new Day Centre for People with Disabilities.

In this connection, Sanchez said, "During 2010 a major priority for the government team has been providing citizens with training and counseling programs to promote their employment."

Sanchez has also concluded by explaining that this goal has been realized with business infrastructures, as the new Center for Entrepreneurship that offers advisory services, business support and training schemes for the unemployed.
