The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Water has approved 60 licenses to open a ruminant livestock farms have adapted to the new adjustment that helps the environment.

For this, the Rural Development Department of the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras made available to farmers advisory service to facilitate procedures for regulation of ruminants and swine farms, and thereby speed up the process of adjustment in which are immersed ruminant farms since the entry into force of Law 1 / 1995 of March 8, Environmental Protection in the Region of Murcia.

Thus, the session formalized cooperation agreements with employers pig farmers and cattle to determine the conditions of procurement by the City Council minutes for the operation of livestock farms.

Through these agreements, most of the existing farms to the entry into force of Law 1 / 1995 of Environment Protection of the Region of Murcia, and Open License have so requested, while with the previous Ordinance Regulatory, many of these farms had not obtained.

In addition, the Advisory and Training Plan for ranchers is part of Ecopuerto Strategic Plan 2008-2012 in which the municipality seeks to promote respect for the environment in all possible fields of action in the area.
