The City Council requests the Central Government the implementation of new programs for women at risk of social exclusion in the municipalities (17/02/2011)

The session approved lumbrerense the last Full Council a motion requesting the Central Government funding to boost cooperation and job placement schemes targeting women with social and labor problems.

Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Catalina Gázquez, explained that "it is essential that the programs include job search techniques and training programs that meet the needs of labor market in each area."

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras approved in the last Full Council a motion requesting the Central Government the implementation of new programs for women at risk of social exclusion in the municipalities.

With 13 votes in favor of PP and IU, and the abstention of the PSOE, the session lumbrerense requests the Central Government "funding and collaboration for the implementation of new labor and social inclusion programs for women with difficulties."

Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Catalina Gázquez, explained that from the hall "consider necessary the implementation of new programs to facilitate such integration and promoting stable employment through information, motivation and advice to women most in need. "

Also Gázquez explained that "it is essential that the programs include job search techniques and training programs that meet the needs of each market area."

Specifically, the session requests the Central Government collaboration and funding for implementation of new social programs for women with difficulties in accessing the labor market.

Thus, these programs would favor female heads of households who have not worked and who wish to join the workforce, unemployed women over 45 years, immigrants or unemployed women without qualifications.

In this sense, Gázquez concluded explaining that "in these difficult economic times it becomes necessary to put these programs to increase job placement opportunities for people with difficulties.
