Open day at the new Child Care Centre 'Ana Maria Sanchez' (06/03/2011)

The session lumbrerense has organized conferences with visitors for citizens to know the new services offered by the Network of Early Childhood Education Centres in the municipality.

The City Council, in collaboration with the Community, has launched a new educational project 'Pequecultura' with 600 seats on offer public childcare for children between 0 and 3 years in the municipality.

Among the services, English as a second language highlights a draft 'Library for Parents' psycho professional advice and an extensive program of reconciling work and family life.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has opened the doors of the new Child Care Centre 'Ana Maria Sanchez' coinciding with the holding of 'Open Days' to those who have attended numerous lumbrerenses.

Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Lina Gázquez has shown the new facilities are located in San Javier Street, next to the newly opened Women's Center.

According Gázquez, "this is a new focus on children in addition to the Public Child Care Network we have created in the town, and we offer over 600 public places for children aged between 0 and 3 years" .

Thus, the new center 'Ana Maria Sanchez' has an infrastructure of 612 square meters have been built through an investment of over one million euros in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Migration.

His installations incorporate 10 classrooms, multipurpose rooms with a large envelope on new technologies, a sitting area and a courtyard of 128 sqm.

In this sense, the councilor stressed "that the new center joins the Education Project 'Pequecultura', in that since the council offer new services exist at present, and make Puerto Lumbreras as a benchmark in the education of their children" .

Thus, Pequecultura offers learning English as a second language, the use of new technologies and applying new educational techniques.

Also incorporated various educational activities such as setting up a school for parents with training and collaboration with families.

Finally, the Educational Project Pequecultura includes numerous measures to facilitate the reconciliation of family and working parents.

Among the initiatives, highlights the expansion of municipal day-care schedule of 7.30 am 20.30h, and the inclusion of 'Playroom' in all schools, enabling service for children up to 9 years, with transport and collection service school.

In conclusion, the Councillor for Equal Opportunity, Children, Volunteer and Citizen Participation of Puerto Lumbreras, Lina Gázquez, said that "the four childcare centers in the municipality are located and communicated with their respective colleges.

Through this settlement plan, the school's students can stay in the playroom of the nursery to accommodate the work schedules of parents. "
