More than 350 students participated in the VII 'Truancy Campaign' held in Puerto Lumbreras (21/03/2011)

The Department of Social Policy with the Department of Interior, VII boosted awareness campaign against truancy in schools in the locality.

Under the motto "Do not let your seat is empty", the campaign aims to truancy prevention and monitoring of socio-educational detected.

This year the conference has focused on students in sixth grade elementary and first of the ESO, and incorporated information about truancy, rights and duties of minors and related new blocks as career and educational pathways to favor " the motivation of students. "

Specifically, the talks are aimed at students in sixth grade of the four schools of the locality and the ESO's first institute "Rambla de Nogalte" and have enjoyed the cooperation of local police in the municipality.

In this seventh edition, the program Municipal Truancy Control and Monitoring Socio-Educational Puerto Lumbreras has been considered one as a regional reference, and therefore, on 16 March in Murcia resubmitted as a model of good practice in the training course organized by the Center for Language and Communication of Lorca, and the School of Local Government on several occasions.

In this context, the session lumbrerense promotes truancy program which is part of the Awareness Campaign VII.

In addition to this initiative, the program includes various activities in this area as an educational intervention project consists of training modules aimed at socially disadvantaged children, and Initial Vocational Training Program targeting young people who have not completed compulsory education.
