Over 300 people attended the Astronomical Observatory Cabezo de la Jara to observe the fall of 'Perseids' popularly known as''falling stars 'or' tears of St. Lawrence. "
Through the Department of Tourism and Culture of the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has launched the campaign 'Meet the Stars'.
The campaign, which includes activities such as guided tours, lectures and seminars in the open, unfolds on Wednesdays and Saturdays from July through September from 22:00 at the Astronomical Observatory Cabezo de la Jara.
Since the start of the campaign 'Meet the Stars' in July, more than 1000 people from different countries and cities, who have attended the tours offered by the consistory Lumbrerense in collaboration with the Astronomical Association of the Region of Murcia.
The Councillor for Tourism and Culture, Maria Isabel Martinez, stated that "during this week were over 300 people that participated in the activities scheduled at the Astronomical Observatory of Cabezo de la Jara to observe the 'rain-concluded estrellas' Martinez encouraging citizens-"participate in the upcoming free tours every Wednesday and Saturday in August and September from 22.00."
Finally, note that this year the council has included the campaign "Meet the Stars' in the new program of promotion of rural tourism that develops during the summer months, which includes visits to the Centre of Interpretation of Nature and Astronomical Trail located in the natural landscape of Cabezo de la Jara, next to the Astronomical Observatory.
