More than 2,000 people have enjoyed this year in the various camps and workshops at the Youth Hostel developed Cabezo de la Jara (25/08/2011)

The natural landscape of Cabezo de la Jara also has the Center for the Interpretation of Nature, the Astronomical Observatory and various theme trails trails on astronomy, botany and integral use of water.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Youth, Sports and Volunteering in collaboration with the company and Leisure 'El Molino', has launched various camps, courses, seminars and workshops of living environment in the involving more than 2,000 people since early this year.

Specifically, youth hostel located in the natural landscape of Cabezo de la Jara offers modern facilities with different spaces such as large outdoor terraces, kitchen and dining room service, an audiovisual room and several multipurpose rooms where different courses are developed , workshops and conferences.

In addition, the resort has a swimming pool and also a farm with animals indigenous to the area.

The range of activities of the various camps is extended with the possibility of hiking trails through the natural landscape with various themes such as astronomy, botany and integral use of water.

On the other hand, note that the Youth Hostel of Cabezo de la Jara is part of a tourist, recreational, cultural and environmental well formed by the Center for the Interpretation of Nature, showing visitors the various elements of the site natural, and the Astronomical Observatory of Cabezo de la Jara where different activities for the observation of celestial phenomena.

The councilman of Youth, Sports and Volunteering, Jose Aragon explained that 'the potential facilities and the natural environment for the development of cultural, leisure, astronomy, environmental, water, or hiking and mountaineering, the lodge has become Youth Cabezo de la Jara on one of the landmarks of the camps and conferences in the region of coexistence. Remarkably, the natural landscape of Cabezo de la Jara is seen as a Site of Community Importance (SCI), where there also (SPA), Special Protection Area for Birds.

His landscapes are composed mainly of oaks and large-sized pine, rosemary, lavender and jara and inhabit the different animal species such as the nearly extinct turtle dwells, owls, rattle or boar.
