More than 50 local artisans and other municipalities in the Region of Murcia participate in the traditional Fair celebrating its tenth edition
Puerto Lumbreras hosts throughout the weekend, the Medieval Market and Craft Fair to coincide with local Celebrations 2011 in honor of the Virgen del Rosario.
The general manager of Consumer Affairs, Commerce and Handicrafts, María Dolores Alarcon, accompanied by the councilman of Commerce, Industry and SMEs, John Cotes, and the Councillor Fetejos, Juana Guirao, inaugurated this morning the Medieval Market and Craft Fair Local .
The Medieval Market will be held all day Saturday and Sunday and displayed exhibits and ancient crafts workshops as falconry, barber and mattresses.
Also be shown different medieval characters through the area, as well as animals at the time.
On the other hand, stands installed in the Medieval Market, involving more than 50 artisans, offering a selection of typical gastronomic products.
In addition, during this first day, the market has offered various shows such as 'staging' of different medieval characters, and a group of animation.
The fair has been organized the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras in collaboration with the General Consumer, Commerce and Handicrafts.
Also, many local artisans have had booths at the Craft Fair which presented a selection of handicrafts such as paintings, soaps, work in Esparto, honey and embroidery, among many others.
The craftsmanship of Puerto Lumbreras is characterized by using traditional local materials to manufacture its products, and by using manual techniques moving away from mass production, thus working wood, stone, ceramics, glass, cane and esparto.
