New containers to collect clothes, toys and shoes to be donated to Caritas (22/02/2012)

The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has installed 9 containers for collecting clothes, toys and shoes to be donated to the nonprofit association Caritas, to "favor the groups that are at risk of social exclusion".

The containers are located strategically distributed throughout the entire municipality and districts, and "expand collaboration between the municipality and the Caritas social project that benefits the citizens most in need."

The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the company recycled and reused the Southeast, has launched a new service for collecting textiles, toys and shoes with the installation of 9 specific containers distributed in the entire municipality.

The new service will use the items deposited in the containers to Puerto Lumbreras Diocesan Caritas to "favor the groups that are at risk of social exclusion".

Thus, the Councillor for Works and Services, Eliseo Sanchez, along with the Councillor for Social Policy, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the representative of Caritas in Puerto Lumbreras, Francisca Gázquez have overseen the installation of the new containers which are distributed the city center and in all neighborhoods and districts of the municipality.

Thus, the implementation in the municipality of this system of waste collection of clothing, footwear and toys promoted among the population the social project of Caritas in order to promote the integration of groups that are at risk of exclusion.

Moreover, as explained Councilman Works and Utilities, Eliseo Sanchez, "guarantees the reduction of this waste in normal trash containers, as appliances that serve the Caritas project will be recycled."

Also, the City has prepared nine containers at street level in the busiest areas of town.

The containers are located in front of some of the busiest public facilities such as day care of the C / Gerardo Diego, San Javier Street, and the parish of-Esparragal Station.

In addition, containers are installed in front of the Sacred Heart Public School, Avenida Almeria, in the sports fields of Gonar, in Constitution Square, in the municipal public park, or at La Ermita.
