The Mayor meets with the CEO of Environment to plan new measures to protect natural areas of the municipality (20/03/2012)

The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, met with the Director General of Environment, Amador Lopez Garcia, to plan new initiatives in the municipality with which the natural dynamics in the Cabezo de la Jara.

Specifically, the mayor of the municipality and the Director General of the Environment have agreed to jointly promote a study of the current state of the natural environment of Cabezo de la Jara.

The Plan also will include a Program Management of Natural Resources and an environmental study for a legal declaration of conservation of protected areas of Cabezo la Jara.

Strategic Plan 2008-2012 Ecopuerto

During the working day, the mayor of the municipality, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, and the director general of the Environment, Amador Lopez, have been analyzed more than 150 measures in the session working through Ecopuerto Strategic Plan 2008 to 2012.

Thus, Sanchez recalled that "through Ecopuerto work in all possible areas to promote sustainable development and medioamambiental of our municipality."

Thus, Ecopuerto Strategic Plan 2008 - 2012 includes concrete measures in the field of energy efficiency, transport, water management, waste management or environmental education of citizens.

Thus, Sanchez concluded by explaining that "the City has become sustainable growth in a central objective of his government. Our goal is to become a green city by involving all citizens in the preservation of natural heritage."
