The Governing Board approved the project 'Restoration and Adaptation of Aljibe Nogalte Castle', which is one of the most emblematic archeological remains of the new water tourist environment of Puerto Lumbreras Nogalte Medina.

The City Council has requested the cooperation of the Ministry of Development to promote some of the actions planned for the rehabilitation of the cistern through the "1% Cultural Programme ', which financially supports cultural and heritage activities.

The Governing Board of the Tourist Consortium Nogalte Medina met this morning in Puerto Lumbreras, which has approved a new action to be promoted in the tourist area Nogalte Medina, with the restoration and adaptation of the cistern of the Castle.

"

In this sense, the Mayor of the town, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, explained that "this is a new action with which we intend to recover one of the archaeological and heritage that preserves Nogalte Castle. Thus, archaeological work will be promoted to rehabilitate the cistern that can be visited by many tourists who visit and tour our new set is presented under the theme 'viewpoint of history.' "

In this sense, the cistern is located in the inner enclosure Nogalte Castle, which was established as an Islamic medieval fortress built around the thirteenth century and considered as a Cultural.
