The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has launched Open Days in the new Day Care Centre for people with disabilities which will become operational in the coming weeks.
The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, accompanied by the Councillor for Social Policy, Maria Angeles Tunisia has participated in the open day in which many citizens and local associations have seen the facilities and services that provide the new Center.
In this sense, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, explained that "the new center will provide therapeutic services and care to promote a better quality of life and empowering and living conditions in the family, social and community people with disabilities. "
According to Sanchez, "this new public facility to offer new services now exist in the municipality to ensure comprehensive care of people with disabilities."
The new equipment has an approximate area of ​​over 2,100 square meters and includes an Early Childhood Center with over 80 seats and a day center for people with disabilities with more than 30 seats that will expand services for disabled people the town, thanks to a collaboration agreement that will formalize the City and the region.
The infrastructure has been built through an investment of over 1,400,000 euros, and services will be managed by the Foundation Diagram, which specializes in the care of people with disabilities.
The new facilities are located in an area of ​​recent expansion of the town of Puerto Lumbreras towards the hamlet of La Station-Esparragal.
The ground floor houses the Early Childhood Center comprises a hall of motor skills and physical therapy, speech therapy three classrooms.

On the other hand, on the second floor houses the Centre for people with disabilities, aged 16 years and includes two classrooms for training and adjustment programs, personal and social, occupational workshops and several breakout rooms, office, gym and physiotherapy.
The center offers a multi-sensory room which is constituted as an area with specific characteristics which can work in a different way.

The center offers a dining room and a space for families where spaces will be located psychology and social work.
Thus, the center will have staff and specialists in various fields: psychologists, social workers, speech therapists, occupational therapists and nursing assistants, among others.
Applications for admission to the center may be submitted Monday through Friday at the Social Services City of Puerto Lumbreras, located at Avenida region of Murcia.
