Students will develop research proposals related to the coastal strip of Murcia, which lies between Bolnuevo and Calabardina
The town of Puerto Lumbreras next week will host more than thirty students from the School of Architecture and Building Engineering at the Catholic University San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM) that developed in the municipality the second edition of Practical Workshop 'Strategies Architectural Intervention '.
This morning, the Councillor for New Technologies, Genaro Perez, and the Councillor for Education, Maria Angeles Tunisia, along with Secretary faculty of the School of Architecture UCAM, Lorenzo Thomas Gabarrón, and Professor of the UCAM and course director, Jerome Granados, presented the training program that "will serve to design action research proposals and architectural development of the coastal strip of Murcia, which lies between Bolnuevo and Calabardina.
Specifically, the program 'Architectural Intervention Strategies: The coastal strip and Calabardina Bolnuevo' is organized by the School of Architecture and Building Engineering of the UCAM, and analyze "research proposals on the landscape and territory that makes up the coastal area located between Aguilas and Mazarron. Thus, "for the second year students of the UCAM participate in this workshop to be held Puerto Lumbreras, where you can also visit the town's infrastructure, and new tourist sites", as explained Councillor New Technologies, Genaro Perez.
Thus, the workshop will be held between 16 and 19 July at the Youth Hostel Cabezo de la Jara, and will combine theoretical and practical sessions in which students design their research proposals to support the strategic development of the strip between coastal and Calabardina Bolnuevo.
In this sense, the training program director, Jerome Granados, explained that "the main objective of the workshop is to develop practical proposals for research on the coastal landscape and sustainable development of the territory in the coastal strip that limit populations Bolnuevo in Mazarron (northeast), and Calabardina, in the town of Aguilas (southwest), including the coastline in the municipality of Lorca. "
The various working groups, comprising students of 2 °, 3 ° and 4 ° architecture course shall analyze and respond to different starting assumptions, as the occupation of the coastal strip, avoiding the systematic occupation of the coast, being very selective in choosing sites, uses and activities to develop in the maritime border, seeking the lowest possible impact on the environment.
In addition, students will need to consider measures to protect areas of high environmental quality and landscape, focussing on preservation and conservation of different ecosystems, but being able to reconcile the use and enjoyment of nature.
Thus, the Councillor for New Technologies, Genaro Perez concluded by explaining that "such initiatives, the session continues to strengthen its cooperation in education with various universities."
