The Socialist parliamentary group in the House of Representatives urges the Government of the nation, to provide a budgetary item to ensure the conversion of the Parador de Puerto Lumbreras, on the 2nd Hotel Management School of the National Network of Paradores.
In 2009, the then president of the Parador chain announced it would open in Puerto Lumbreras (Murcia) its second School of Hospitality, given the high occupancy is the only one that exists today, located in Leon, and is now too small.
The work would start after the opening of the new Parador de Lorca.
He was the Socialist government of Spain that went for the reconstruction and refurbishment of this building to make it the second School of Hotel within the Network of Paradores of Spain, which led him to become that school students in South the country.
Despite repeated announcements about continuity services provide only restaurant, bar and pool, the Popular Party government has not made an express nor equipped to ensure budgetary item processing or rehabilitation.
With the opening of the new Parador de Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras facilities which employed 37 workers, only 6 employees remain on staff.
Keeping our commitment to the continuity of the Network of Paradores in Puerto Lumbreras, the PSOE, along with non-legislative proposal received at the Congress of Deputies, has each submitted motions in the Regional Assembly and the City of Puerto Lumbreras, requesting support of other political parties.
