The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the council for Sustainable Development, seeks the cooperation of the Autonomous Community of Murcia to extend actions on environmental education at the Youth Hostel "Cabezo de la Jara."

In this regard, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has an Environmental Interpretation Centre, Workshops, Mini-Farm, and a nursery at the Youth Hostel "Cabezo de la Jara," to promote awareness of the natural values ​​of the municipality.

Thus, the Autonomous Community Programme on the Natural Heritage Interpretation in the Classroom Network of Nature, equipped with classrooms and workshops of nature, environmental education campaigns and other events.
