The House approved the City Charter on the Rights of the Child which monitors the interest and the protection of minors (14/08/2012)

The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Equality of Opportunity, adopted unanimously at the last Full Council, the City Charter on the Rights of the Child that enforces the rights and protection of the interests of minors.

Thus, and with the approval of the motion, "the City will implement specific measures for children to exercise their right to express their views freely in all matters affecting them and interest them," says the Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Catherine Gázquez.

The City Council shall establish the means to facilitate the participation of children in debates, referendums, and new areas and activities where they have the opportunity to participate, express their opinions and to receive information.

Thus, the City Council is committed to the implementation of the "City Council Children," understood as a forum for child participation in the life of his people.

So at least once a year, there will be a plenary Municipal Child in which the role appropriate to children.
