The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the president of the Association of Alzheimer lumbrerense (VILLAGE), Modestina Diaz, have signed this afternoon a collaboration agreement to promote activities in support of Alzheimer's patients in the municipality.
Specifically, through this agreement, the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras awarded a grant of € 15,000 to the Association of Alzheimer lumbrerense.
In this sense, the local mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, explained that "through collaboration with VILLAGE, we want to promote measures to improve the quality of life for Alzheimer's patients in our town."
Thus, the Association of Alzheimer lumbrerense (village) is committed to implementing an Action Plan 2013-2014, which includes the organization of conferences, seminars, round tables and workshops to raise awareness of the disease.
Among the Association's initiatives also include support groups and workshops for patients.
In addition, the Action Plan includes an advisory service on legal, economic and sociological relatives, psychological and moral support, and a program to facilitate and monitor attendance of Alzheimer's patients.
In this sense, Sanchez added that "with the implementation of the Plan of Action VILLAGE continue improving the quality of life of patients through rehabilitation programs capacity deficit and preventive treatments of mental and physical decline."
Meanwhile, the village president, Modestina Diaz, thanked the commitment and collaboration of the session and also explained that "the initiatives Association launches include sessions and performances that detect and reduce potential tensions relatives or carers to the huge dependence that causes the disease. "
Finally, note that after signing the agreement, the Mayor of the town, and members of the government team, have maintained a working meeting with the board of the Association VILLAGE to plan the implementation of new projects.
VILLAGE Association
The Village Association is a nonprofit organization founded in November 2006 and formed by relatives of Alzheimer patients and professionals from various fields such as psychology, physiotherapy, social work and other disciplines involved in the care of Alzheimer's disease.
Its activity, funded by contributions and donations of more than 80 partners and by grants from public bodies, arises through private initiatives to the needs raised by the families of Alzheimer's patients.
