Puerto Lumbreras celebrated this weekend his first pilgrimage in honor of the Virgen del Carmen (16/05/2013)

The day will feature a pilgrimage along the Rambla of Vilerda, Mass at Chapel of the Virgin del Carmen in the place of the Tertia, a contest of crumbs, traditional games and musical performances by The Esparragal crews and Puri .

The day was organized in conjunction with the recent Blessing of the Chapel of the Virgen del Carmen of the Place of the Tertia which was destroyed by the flood of Sept. 28.

The town of Puerto Lumbreras held on Saturday May 18 his first pilgrimage in honor of the Virgen del Carmen.

This morning, the council of Celebration, Joseph Aragon, and the parish priest, Serafin Campoy, by the councilor districts, José María Parra, presented the program of activities that include this first pilgrimage in honor of the Virgen del Carmen.

Thus, explained that the Pilgrimage "is celebrated with the recent blessing of the Chapel in honor of the Virgen del Carmen which is situated in the hamlet of La Rambla Tertia in Vilerda and which was destroyed by heavy rains September 28 ".

Thus the day will include a pilgrimage and Mass in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, Patroness of Cabeza de la Jara.

In addition, the council of Celebration, José Aragón, explained that "this is a day of living designed for all local families and our districts."

Specifically, at 11:00 in the morning the day starts with the output from the Church of Our Lady Virgin of the Rosary and Procession of the Virgin by Vilerda boardwalk down to the Chapel located on the site of the Tertia.

There is a Mass in honor of the Patroness of Cabeza de la Jara and subsequently held a day of living with performances by Puri gang and the Esparragal, tender crumb, and popular games for children.

The Chapel of the Virgen del Carmen is located in the hamlet of La Rambla Tertia in Vilerda, and was built in 1945.

This past September, the Chapel was destroyed by the flood, and the image of the Virgin was found by locals in the Rambla de Vilerda.

Hence, residents of the hamlet lumbrerense collaborate to rebuild the altar of the patron who was blessed last December.
