Continues the trend set over the past two years in Puerto Lumbreras with one of the best results in lowering the unemployment rate (06/06/2013)

The Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Councillor for Employment and Innovation, Salvadora Martinez, this morning presented a new package of measures to promote employment in the town after posting one of the largest declines in the unemployment rate that put Puerto Lumbreras 15 points below the national average of unemployment.

The City Council has moved all services related to training, employment and business start-ups to the facilities of the Center for Entrepreneurship where further action to boost job creation.

The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has centralized all services to promote job creation in the facilities of the Center for Entrepreneurship.

This morning, Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, together with the Councillor for Employment and Innovation, Salvadora Martinez, presented new measures that the City will implement to promote employment in the new facility coincided with a significant drop in the unemployment rate which places Puerto Lumbreras 15 points below the national average of unemployment.

In this sense, the Mayor praised "positive" recent unemployment data, and explained that "during the month of May, we recorded one of the largest declines which put us 15 points below the national average of unemployment."

Thus, according to the latest data from the Regional Service Centre for Employment and Training, the town has reduced unemployment reaching an unemployment rate of 12.06%.

Thus, the unemployment rate in Puerto Lumbreras is 15 points lower compared to the national average stands at 27.16%, according to the National Employment Institute.

In this regard, Sanchez pointed out that "the City Council continue to work and implementing new measures that favor job creation goal to become one of the first municipalities to overcome the crisis."

Thus, the City has moved all employment and training services to facilities at the Center for Entrepreneurship, where services will be provided as career counseling, job placement, or Local Training Plan that includes more than one hundred programs training year.

In this regard, Sanchez explained that "the centralization of services at the Center for Entrepreneurship, citizens may choose in the same facilities to all programs of employment, business and training, yet are available to associations and confederations serving in the center such as the Chamber of Commerce, AJE Guadalentin, the Confederation of Employers ASEPLU or AMUSAL, among others. "

Similarly, the City has entered into a collaboration agreement with the Regional Service for Employment and Training (SEF) to comprehensively develop new employment services in the new facility.

Thus, it will be new activities in the field of Guidance and Employment Intermediation and local development AEDL (Agents Employment and Local Development).

To do this, from the Center for Entrepreneurship will offer custom job counseling services in order to facilitate access of claimants to vacancies.

Also be detected staffing needs of area businesses and jobs will be captured to be included in the Online Portal of the SEF and the City.

The new measures also emphasizes creating an updated database of jobseekers in Puerto Lumbreras to be made available to businesses in the area.

Moreover, from the Center for Entrepreneurship will work to plan public aid for job creation through analysis and studies of future labor needs of companies.

Young, a priority for job creation

In addition the City is committed to the creation of youth employment.

So, in collaboration with the SEF will be provided the new service 'Saber Undertake' with which provide personalized advice to young people who choose to start a business.

The new program, explained, "is to promote the acquisition of experience in unemployed young people to facilitate their access to the labor market."

For this, the City will submit and process applications for companies of Puerto Lumbreras with the Employment and Training for unemployed youth incorporating the performance of practical work experience.
