New Ordinance street cleaning and waste management in Puerto Lumbreras (14/06/2013)

Puerto Lumbreras currently has more than 600 dumpsters with 2,400 liters capacity for the collection of waste collection points distributed in 300.

It also has an Ecopark Fixed, installed in the Industrial, and Mobile Ecopark, where citizens can deposit waste such as oils, appliances, electrical waste, toys, clothing, wood, metal, electrical cables, bulky waste, toner printing, paints, batteries, among others.

Also, the ordinance has been modified ecoparks schedules and citizens may deposit waste that do not fit in traditional containers in Fixed Ecoparque Saturday, in the morning, from 9:30 to 13:30 hours and , in the afternoon, from 17:00 to 19:00 hours.

On the other hand, it may dispose of these wastes in the mobile Ecopark located on Fridays from 8:00 to 13:00 with the weekly market of Puerto Lumbreras, and Sundays from 9:00 to 14:00 pm at the weekly market in the Season-Esparragal.

Similarly, the Ordinance provides sanctions and penalties that are articulated through Law 22/2011 of July 28, of waste and contaminated soil, and are classified as minor, serious and very serious.

Offense is considered serious when leaving or uncontrolled spilling of a spill of any type of waste and he had made serious health hazard to people or a serious deterioration to the environment.

On the other hand, is considered a serious offense abandonment or uncontrolled dumping of waste in public places, and minor infraction like failing several times behaviors to deposit garbage and dump waste on public roads.

The persons responsible for monitoring compliance with these standards will be the agents of the local police.

Finally, Sanchez explained that "the new ordinance also constitutes an information tool for citizens to separate waste tips and collection schedules and services."
