The Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness distinguishes Puerto Lumbreras as 'City of Science and Innovation' (09/07/2013)

The city has earned the 'City of Science and Innovation' after boosting action plans that promote energy efficiency and environmental friendliness to become 'Sustainable City'.

Puerto Lumbreras has been one of the four municipalities of Spain who have earned the distinction this year of 'City of Science and Innovation' with which they become part of a network to promote innovative projects in the field or scientific Local.

The Ministry of Science and Innovation, through the Ministry of Research, Development and Innovation, has distinguished itself as "City of Science and Innovation 2012" to Puerto Lumbreras.
