40 Students from the School of Architecture and Engineering Edificiación UCAM, 12 teachers and five speakers will participate in the third edition of Architectural Intervention Strategies Workshop taking place in Puerto Lumbreras from 22 to 26 July.

The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras collaborates with the San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) through a training program that will help design intervention proposals to revitalize the old town of Puerto Lumbreras.

This morning, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, along with Secretary faculty of the School of Architecture at the UCAM, Lorenzo Thomas Gabarron as well as the organizers and students have presented the training program to be held in Puerto Lumbreras next week .

Specifically, the program 'Architectural Intervention Strategies: "Revitalization of the Old Town of Puerto Lumbreras" is organized by the School of Architecture and Building Engineering UCAM, and in this third edition students will work in "real intervention proposals for Puerto Lumbreras through workshops and working groups have been organized throughout the week ", as has Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez ..

Thus, the workshop will run from 22 to 26 July at the Youth Hostel Cabeza de la Jara, and will combine theoretical and practical sessions in which students design their proposed intervention activities that stimulate and improve old Puerto Lumbreras

In this sense, the director of the training program, Jerome Granados, explained that "working groups discussed the architectural possibilities of the old town of Puerto Lumbreras".

Furthermore, Granados added that "this workshop, students will continue to learn and formed through a real project of great importance."

Projects will study the revitalization of the Old Town

The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras working for years in new initiatives to boost the old part of town and connect it with access to the new tourist complex Nogalte Medina which houses the Castle and the whole cave houses.

To this end, actions are implemented in order to promote recovery and rehabilitation of old where they have created new cultural and tourism as the House Elves or the House-Museum of the Holy Week Brotherhoods.

So next week the 40 students of the UCAM Workshop explored through real architectural proposals to revitalize and invigorate the old town.

Work performed will be on display throughout the summer in the House Craftsman Workshop of Puerto Lumbreras.
