The staff of the local police in Puerto Lumbreras was held this morning on the day of their patrons to celebrate the feast of the Archangels St. Michael, St. Gabriel and St. Raphael.

During the day has been celebrated a Mass and has awarded merit badges of the local police several officers of the municipality, with distinctive blue and white.

The body of the local police in Puerto Lumbreras was held this morning its Patrons Day in honor of the Holy Archangels.

So, at 12:00 hours there has been a Mass celebrated by the parish priest, Don Serafin Campoy, which was attended by the mayor of the town, Maria Angeles Tunisia, the head of the local police, Gabriel Abellán, the government team, and more than two hundred people.

After the Mass was held the ceremony of Medals of Merit of the local police in Puerto Lumbreras.

Thus, it has awarded the Medal of Merit with White to agents Diego José García, Juan Miguel Cuenca, Francisco Gilberte, Vincent Molino, Antonio Miguel Perez and Jose Manuel Vico, for its work on 20 August to dismantle the largest marijuana plantation in the country, discovered so far in the hamlet of La Station lumbrerense-Esparragal.

On the other hand, has awarded the Medal of Merit of the local police with distinctive blue agents to José Manuel Muñoz and Juan Antonio Espín by the work they did on 14 August to save the life of a 63 year old couple was trapped in a fire at his home.

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, stressed that "we wanted to publicly acknowledge the effort, courage and dedication of these agents, and thanks to his work we could prevent more tragedies."

In this sense, the Mayor explained that "this memorial recognizes the dedication and commitment to public service safety body coinciding with the celebration of the feast day of the Patron".

Moreover, Tunisia recalled that "in recent years Puerto Lumbreras has tripled the staff of the local police and we have recently launched new police facilities and technical means to increase public safety in the city".

Currently, the municipality has a staff of 24 officers and a fleet of five vehicles and four motorcycles.
