The Director of Roads, José Guijarro, announced today that the Department of Public Works and Planning has awarded the project to improve regional road RM D-26, whose budget amounts to EUR 524 695.
Guijarro said the road works will begin later this month and consist of the reconstruction of service roads, sidewalks, and driveway entrances.
The action covers a total of six kilometers and its execution time is eight months.
The RM-D26 road connects the village with lumbrerense of Station RM-620 highway, which runs from Puri to Pulpí, which will also be subjected to repairs in the coming months.
The damage suffered because of this infrastructure Lorca earthquake and subsequent flood, makes it necessary to reinforce its strong performance with a layer of hot asphalt, and the replacement of the gutters.
The Highways Agency began last year planning of actions aimed at restoring the roads affected by earthquakes.
These repairs will be completed in 2016 and contemplated action in more than 138 kilometers and, as a whole, represents an investment by the region of over 48 million euros.
José Guijarro said "we continue to work to promote the transformation of the city and its surroundings in terms of mobility and urbanism, to get the road network deserves Lorca, which will facilitate and make life more attractive and economic activity."
