Opens new public nursery offers 82 new positions for the Care of Children in the town of Puerto Lumbreras (19/11/2013)

The new center, located next to the new Sacred Heart Public School, has already begun work to meet the social and educational needs of children aged 0-3 years.

The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, the Minister of Health, Maria Angeles Palacios and the Minister of Education, University and Employment, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, inaugurated this morning the new Center for Child Care "Juan Lopez", which covers the social and educational needs of children aged 0-3 years.

Thus, during the visit have known the new childcare facilities, public school next to Sacred Heart and PequeCultura educational project and the services provided in this kindergarten.

In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "with the opening of this new public kindergarten continue to improve the care network of the municipality, which has greatly increased public places in recent years."

In addition, the mayor added that "we want to offer all parents of the town the opportunity to reconcile work and family life through Pequecultura project, which includes measures such as extension of hours of childcare or the inclusion of" Toy Library "centers".

The new center is located next to Sacred Heart CP, and has 800 square meters distributed on one floor, and an investment of EUR 500,000 through the region.

This new building, which is adapted to the social and educational needs of children aged 0-3 years has: six classrooms, a dining room, bedrooms, bathrooms, a playground, a multipurpose room, offices, kitchen and storage.

'Juan Lopez' recognition of the first mayor of Puerto Lumreras democracy

Puerto Lumbreras City Council has approved a Municipal Council through the name of the new Infant School by the name of Juan Lopez, in recognition of which was first mayor of Puerto Lumbreras democracy.

Juan Lopez Garcia was the first mayor elected in the democratic era in the town of Puerto Lumbreras, and died last June in his hometown.

He was born on November 23, 1929, in the midst of a modest family of farmers.
