The People's Party of Puerto Lumbreras held its first public campaign event for the European elections with a sector act of women "Equality in Europe" which took place at the Women's Center Township.
Thus, the event was attended by over one hundred people and was chaired by the Councillor for Equality, Catalina Gázquez, Director General for Social Policy, Veronica Lopez and the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, M ª Ángeles Tunisia.
During the ceremony, used the key points on the Equality of the PP manifesto for the European elections and the measures implemented by the government of Spain to promote equal opportunities for men and women.
Furthermore, the Mayor of the PP, María Ángeles Tunisia, explained that "Puerto Lumbreras has received more than 30 million European Union in the last ten years."
Moreover, he added that "thanks to these European funds have been able to invest in new projects and infrastructure as the new Business Incubator Women, new venues for women's associations or center care for women victims of gender violence (CAVI)" .
Finally, the Mayor has shown its commitment to continue working for real equality of opportunity and stressed that "we are still in contact with the various groups of women to gather their concerns and address their needs."
