The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras and Parish Caritas received 1,449 pounds of food that are targeted to the most disadvantaged.

So, Caritas Parish and City Council through the Social Services have designed this batch of staple food to a total of 56 needy families in Puerto Lumbreras summer.

These 1.449kg food have come through the Spanish Red Cross facilities in Molina de Segura, who has a food bank intended for the collection, storage and distribution of surplus food with the intent to make them reach those most need in the Region of Murcia.

To do this, the Social Services made a preliminary report on the status of the applicants of this type of aid is earmarked for the poorest families or at risk of social exclusion such as households with children or elderly dependents, minorities ethnic, people unable to work, children in distress, bystanders or seniors with the lowest pensions.

In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunis, explained that "the Social Services we take special care in monitoring the distribution process for all food arriving in perfect condition and at the right time, without the administrative procedures lengthen the difficult situation experienced by some families in this time of crisis. "

All the food received during the summer months have been 1,449 kilos.

The type of food received at this stage were: white rice, biscuits, then milk powder, UHT milk, pasta, baby food, or canned tomato sauce, among others.
