Culture and the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras present the poster of the festivities designed by artist FOD (23/09/2014)

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities today hosted the launch lineup of festivities in Puerto Lumbreras 2014, which has been designed by the artist lumbrerense Francisco Olivares 'FOD', and that the director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts, Marta Lopez-Briones, highlighted as an example of the contribution they can make artists to provide added value to the traditional festivals of the municipalities.

Together with the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tuñez, and 'FOD', the director of the ICA introduced the bill with which disclosed the new edition of the festivities, held from 2 to 7 October in honor of the Virgen del Rosario.

The plastic work is full of symbols of Puerto Lumbreras, as the central strip whose representation is the most remarkable of the municipality divided by the Rambla de Nogalte feature.

The sign also has four symbols that represent the hallmark of the holidays, the patron, San Francisco, fireworks and the chariot of the Queen of the Festival.

Furthermore, the work is divided into two colors, white and black.

At the top you can see the old town where the church area where the night is fair is held, and in the bottom of the other side of town is represented, in which the day fair is held.

On the other hand, refers lumbrerense artist in his work to the ties between the two sides of town, and represents the docks of the Port, which is located in the Rambla bridges Nogalte.

The director of the ICA noted that the programming of the holidays "extols the historical, cultural and folk heritage of the municipality" and that it "traditional activities are mixed with new initiatives year after year are consolidated through a poster and a program designed and I thought for all lumbrerenses and visitors who come to the town these days. Cultural activities are simultaneously holding two concerts in each of the five nights of parties, one in the municipal pavilion and another young carp.

'FOD'

Francisco Olivares was born in Puerto Lumbreras in 1973 and a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Granada.

He has participated since 2005 and to date in various group exhibitions such as the International Contemporary Art Fair (Arco) in Madrid.

He has also made several exhibitions in the region, who have been through the Archaeological Museum, El Batel Cartagena, gallery or T20, as well as his hometown, Puerto Lumbreras.

He has also participated in group exhibitions around the country and other international cities like Miami, Berlin, Brussels, Sao Paulo or Palermo, among others.

It also has several awards and scholarships, such as Murcia Young Award in 2003, an honorable mention award in the paint IV Chamber of Commerce in 2002 and an honorable mention in the 2004 Generation of Madrid.

It also received the Fellowship of Fine Arts of the Ministry of Culture in 2006 and Fellowship of the Autonomous Region for the 2009 Landscape Workshop on White, among others.
