The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the president of the lumbrerense Association of Alzheimer (VILLAGE), Modestina Diaz, this morning signed a collaboration agreement to promote activities in support of Alzheimer's municipality.
Specifically, through this agreement, the City of Puerto Lumbreras provides a subsidy of 10,200 euros to the lumbrerense Association of Alzheimer.
In this sense, the Mayor of the town, Maria Angeles Tunisia, explained that "through collaboration with VILLAGE, we want to promote measures to improve the quality of life for Alzheimer's patients in our town."
Thus the lumbrerense Association of Alzheimer (VILLAGE) agrees to implement an Action Plan 2015-2016, which includes the organization of conferences, seminars, roundtables and training courses on the disease.
Among the initiatives organized by the Association also include support groups and workshops for patients.
In addition, the Action Plan includes an advisory service on legal, sociological and economic to family matters, psychological and moral support, and a program to facilitate and monitor attendance of Alzheimer's patients.
In this sense, Maria Angeles Tunisia added that "with the implementation of the Plan of Action VILLAGE continue to improve the quality of life of patients through rehabilitation programs of loss capabilities and preventive treatment of mental and physical decline."
For its part, the president of VILLAGE, Modestina Diaz, thanked the commitment and collaboration of the session and also explained that "the initiatives launched the Association include sessions and performances that detect and reduce potential stress on the relatives or carers to the heavy reliance that causes the disease ".
Finally, note that, after signing the agreement, the Mayor held a meeting with the president of the Association VILLAGE planning the launch of new projects.
VILLAGE Association
The Village Association is a nonprofit organization established in November 2006 and formed by families of Alzheimer's patients and professionals from various fields such as psychology, physiotherapy, social work and other disciplines involved in the care of sick Alzheimer.Su activity funded by contributions and donations of over 80 partners and by grants from public bodies arises through private initiatives to the needs raised by relatives of Alzheimer patients.
