The council's Equal Opportunities presented together with the councilors of Health and Social Policy program the second edition of 'Healthy Habits' (23/04/2008)

The Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Lina Gázquez, accompanied by the council of Health, Matilde Garcia, and the mayor of Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, presented this morning in the paddle of the sports center, the second edition of the Program Healthy Habits for women in the municipality in order to enhance their quality of life and leisure time.

The program will begin its activities from next Friday, and until July 11, has enjoyed the cooperation of the Institute for Women and will be developed in the facilities of Sociocultural del Camino Real, the Cultural Center the Centre for Local Development, Youth Space and the municipal paddle, as well as in other units specified in the program.

Specifically, we will develop a series of activities that focus on self-esteem workshops, relaxation, Yoga Therapy, floral arrangements, weight control, ballroom dancing and choreography, gymnastics, cooking, prevention of breast cancer and cervical cancer vaccine, in addition many courses, most notably, health and home care, email, child care, Internet search tools, kitchen and introduction to computer and exhibitions, among others.

To complement the activities that will develop over three months, include workshops on sunscreen organized to mark the European Day of Skin Cancer Prevention, contests with the kinds of nursery and primary schools called "Initiatives Equality ", consisting of working with equality issues, developing different initiatives in the classroom to carry out on schedule and reward outstanding initiatives.

It also stresses the sport 'Women and the paddle: a sport of cooperation "aimed at developing the basic techniques of the sport's outstanding success at present, where there will be a display of players who show the most advanced techniques of this sport.
